Our goal at Capilano
Suspension Bridge is to provide you and your classroom with
a fun and educationally rewarding experience that will bring
Capilano Suspension Bridge and its beautiful natural,
cultural and historical surroundings to life.
Established in 1889, Capilano Suspension Bridge encompasses
multiple themes from the Lower Mainland and British Columbia's
environmental, social, political and cultural history. The uniqueness and
natural richness of Capilano Suspension Bridge and its environment provides
children and their families an opportunity to understand and experience
first-hand why, for over a hundred years, a community has settled, developed
and thrived here.
In addition to 'Salmon &
the Forest', this year, Capilano Suspension Bridge offers
you 4 new hands-on school programs, focused on offering your
class a fun and active learning experience: 'Mind your
Manners in Moodyville', 'The Tree of Life', 'Bridge
Builders' and 'Rainforest Rescuers'. Created by a teacher
and keeping the provincial curriculum in mind, each program
is designed with a variety of activities and exercises which
meet multiple Prescribed Learning Outcomes as outlined by
the BC Ministry of Education. Each of these 4 new programs
is offered for primary and intermediate grades.
The following programs are
available:
The Tree of Life - primary and intermediate
Bridge Builders - primary and intermediate
Rainforest Rescuers - primary and intermediate
Salmon and the Forest - Grades 8-12
