Share in traditional First Nations culture at Kia'palano, the First Nations Cultural Centre, an important part of British Columbia's rich history. Guests have the opportunity to learn about First Nations art, culture, history and traditions. Watch as legends are woven, beaded and carved by artists from a variety of Pacific Northwest Nations. In summer months, time honored ceremonial songs and dances are shared with guests.

Visit the largest collection of privately owned story (totem) poles in the world at the Story Pole Park. Numerous poles were commissioned in the early 1930s and carved by the First Nations of the South West Coast. The most recent poles have been carved on-site by Pacific North West carvers. The newest addition to the collection is the Salmon Pole, carved by Master Carver Wayne Carlick during Capilano's 2005 Year of the Salmon celebrations.

For a fabulous themed event, the salmon barbecue Potlatch is a must. Featuring wild B.C. salmon, garden fresh salads and vegetables, bannock bread and Chef's homemade desserts, this First Nations inspired buffet is served in the gardens. Click here to view menu.
